White Screen / Blank Screen / 500 Error After Installation

There are times when you come across an error as soon as you install a new plugin or theme on your website.
Following are a few possible reasons why you may see an error at such times –

WordPress Memory Limit

The memory allocated by your server for your site might get exhausted as soon as you install a new plugin. You can increase the WordPress memory limit as we』ve explained in this article.

Older Version of Beaver Builder Plugin

You have installed an older version of  the Beaver Builder plugin. Make sure you have installed the latest (1.8+) version of the Beaver Builder plugin.

Older Version of PHP

Your website hosting server is running on an older version of PHP. Versions below 5.4 are declared unsupported by PHP itself and have come to End Of Life. If your PHP version is older than 5.4, please contact your hosting provider and ask them for an upgrade. Most of the hosts will be able to get this done quickly.

Temporary Solution

Introducing: Content Toggle Module

Available from version 1.8.0
Content Toggle module helps you display two versions of a content, saved row, saved module and saved page templates within a single section allowing users to toggle between them using the toggle button.
Content 1 Tab:
You can add the Heading title, content or you can change the section as saved row, saved templates or saved modules you can use Saved Row, Saved Modules, Page Templates created before.

Content 2 Tab:
Like the content 1 tab, here too you can add the content you need.

Style Tab:
You can choose which content you wish to display by default. You can change the switcher style( Round 1, Round 2, Rectangle, Label Box ). You can change the size, colors for switcher and controller. 

Heading tag will allow you to add HTML tags, Alignments, Layout, Background Color, Border Radius, Padding for heading. 

Using the Content Tab you can add the Background Color, Border Radius, Padding for content. You can also add spacing between headings and buttons and in content and headings.

Typography Tab

Using this tab you can change the Heading 1, Heading 2, Content 1 and Content 2 typography like Font Family, Font Size, Line Height, Color, Text Transform, and Letter Spacing.

How to Set up a Mega Menu with UABB?

With UABB version _ _, you can create stunning mega menus. UABB Advanced Menu module now supports mega menu functionality. You just need to add a CSS class to the top-level menu item.
Below are the steps that describe steps to use mega menu with  UABB Advanced Menu module:
1. From the WordPress dashboard navigate to Appearance > Menus.
2. From the upper right corner, click on the Screen Options. Tick the CSS Classes checkbox.
3. Click on the top-level menu item whose child menu items you would like to turn into a mega menu.
4. In the CSS Classes field, add class mega-menu
With UABB Advanced Menu module you can customize border and separator for submenus.  Options are available under Submenu tab.

Minimum height option in Price List

Content length for each item in the list may vary. In this case, you might need to set some fixed height for all list items so that they will display with similar dimensions irrespective of content length.

Minimum Height option in Price List is very useful and allows to set a fixed height for all items in the list.

The setting can be found under Layout > Layout Settings section

Translating UABB using Poedit

UABB comes with a POT which can be loaded in Poedit for translating the strings. This file is located in 『bb -ultimate-addon/languages/』

Open Poedit, Go to File -> From POT/PO file.
Select New POT/PO file in Poedit.
Now select the .pot file from the plugin
From the dropdown, now select the language in which you want to translate the plugin.
Click on any string you want to translate, in the bottom text input area add your translation.
After you are done translating all the strings, click save. This will give you .mo and .po files.
Upload the .mo file to your WordPress site via FTP to folder – /wp-content/languages/plugins/bb-ultimate-addon/

 
After you upload the file your translations will start working on your site.

Fix for – The PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) Error

The PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature error is caused by one of two things as below:
Case 1: There』s a problem with the zip file or it』s format.
It』s possible that the plugin zip file became corrupted when it was downloaded. Try downloading it from your account on our store and install (or update manually)
Case 2: Server Disk Space Issue
If you still receive the same error while trying to install the zip manually, then it may mean that there』s not enough storage space on your host for WordPress to be able to unzip and upload the contents of the file. To confirm this, try to upload other files to your site, such as an image, video or other plugin. If you』re not able to upload large files, then storage space is likely the issue.
You can either remove some files (backups or themes & plugin that you』re not using) or contact your web host to increase your storage capacity.

How to Set Thumbnail Image for Video?

You can set a nice thumbnail image for the video that will display before playing a video. Video module offers this option.
The setting can be found under the Thumbnail (tab) > Thumbnail & Overlay.
Set Custom Thumbnail option to YES. Select an Image, Image Size and adjust the Overlay Color.
